Liz's Thoughts- Montage

I absolutely loved the montage that we watched in class. I found it extremely captivating and interesting. I loved the way they took what may not be the most interesting shots and enhanced it using all different kinds of digital effects and techniques. It seems to me that many of the shots in the montage were just like individual works of art added up together. The music also added to the effect of the movie and kept my attention. Although it’s hard for me to watch a series of clips and put them together and find a meaning, the meaning of this film was apparent. I agree with Candice about the close-ups of the faces showing emotion. These shots were very interesting to me because it allowed viewers to focus in on the emotion this person was feeling and it was as though I almost felt it myself. Also, I found the part where they showed the faces of the wax museum sculptures to be awesome! Overall, I found this montage fascinating and I did not find it hard to pay attention at all. It was very different from anything I’ve ever seen- in a good way!
